Educator of the Year Award


Quality education is essential to the well-being of our profession and outstanding instructors are the foundation of our educational program.  The NAIFA has established an Outstanding Educator Award to recognize instructors, coordinators, course authors and/or reviewers who exemplify excellence in education and the appraisal profession. The goals of the Outstanding Educator of the Year Award are to recognize excellence in teaching, to encourage creative and quality instruction and to contribute in a substantive way to the improvement of our educational program.




  • Nominees must be designated members who are National Instructors for a minimum of three (3) years and have had their designation for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Nominees who are instructors must have maintained attendance requirements at the NAIFA National Instructors Conference; and have favorable course evaluations.
  • Nominees will have made contributions to the NAIFA educational program through coordination of courses, course and/or seminar presentations, text writing and or reviewing.

Nomination Criteria


Nominees must be members in good standing who:

  • Instill in students a desire to learn
  • Understand the individual needs of students, encourage class participation
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of subject matter and ability to share effectively with students
  • Foster cooperative relationships with their colleagues
  • Plan, encourage and offer continued support in the arena of chapter continuing education
  • Write and/or review timely seminar/course materials on a continuous basis
  • Proffer their assistance in the updating and/or providing supplemental instructional material for NAIFA seminars/courses
