Q: How do I find out how many hours are needed to renew my license and how often the renewal cycle is?
A: Hours and renewal cycles vary by state. Please contact your state’s Real Estate Appraiser Board for more information.
Q: I lost my course certificate—can you help?
A: NAIFA’s record retention policy is seven years. For CE and QE courses that fall within that time period, state certificates can be re-issued. For classes older than seven years, we will provide a copy of the certificate if we still have it on file, or recreate your certificate if we have the class roster showing your class attendance.
To request a copy of your class certificate, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, the class name, the class date, the class location, and the address we should mail your certificate to.
Q: There is a course that is approved in my state but is not being offered—what can I do?
A: NAIFA education is chapter driven. Chapters decide their own education and submit class request forms to National. If there is a course you would like to see offered in your area, but is not currently on the calendar, contact your local chapter president for more information. All chapter information can be found here.
Q: Our chapter has never hosted education but would like to give it a shot—where should we begin?
A: The Education Handbook provides a detailed look at how NAIFA education works. It provides the chapter and class coordinator with all the information necessary to determine which courses to offer, how to price registration and what resources are available through Headquarters to make the course a success.
For a quicker overview of the steps to hosting an NAIFA class and the responsibilities of the class coordinator, you may also want to review the Class Coordinator FAQ.
Q: I am a member but do not have a chapter nearby. I know there are many appraisers like me who need education but have no offerings in our area. What can I do?
A: National Headquarters would be happy to host a course in your area! As the course coordinator, you would receive education for free, while helping National find a place to host the course. National does all the necessary marketing, finds the instructor, and more! If you have an interest in bringing education to your area, please contact email@example.com.
