URBAN REVITALIZATION AND REDEVELOPMENT

Wednesday, October 17

Challenge yourself with a two hour examination of the issues in urban renewal that affects appraising professionals. This seminar will be led by Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis LLP partner and real estate attorney, Robert Goldsmith, Esq. and Michael G. Stinkevich, Jr., Esq. of Lieberman & Blecher, P.C.. The two will cover issues in redevelopment (plusses and minuses), including municipal support and partnerships, incentives, aging infrastructure, eminent domain, density, and mixed-use developments. He will also cover parking in relation to redevelopment, coordination of redevelopment programs through special improvement districts, and municipal development authorities. Attendees will enjoy a lively and interactive session that will explore many of these issues regarding urban revitalization projects that affect appraisers today.

Following session one is an additional two hour panel format presentation. Join the honorable Judge Joseph M. Andresini and a panel of experts featuring your current NAIFA National President, Charles E. Blau, Esq., IFAC. Participants will get inside information from experienced professionals regarding what actually happens in a state tax court. Appraisers who have shied away from court testimony or those who are looking for tips and advice to effectively present in court should definitely plan to attend this thought-provoking and engaging session that will pay instant dividends for appraisers who wish to pursue tax cases.

 

NATIONAL APPRAISAL INDUSTRY UPDATE: TAF AND THE APPRAISAL SUBCOMMITTEE

Understanding where we have been and where we are going as a profession can only be fully understood by learning from the big boys in Washington as David Bunton, President of The Appraisal Foundation, and Jim Park, Executive Director of The Appraisal Subcommittee, give us a National Appraisal Industry Update, and more importantly, answer your questions. This promises to be one of the liveliest events of the week.

 

DEALING WITH A NEGATIVE REVIEW
