Becoming an Instructor

Prior to teaching a class for the NAIFA, you must:

  1. Be a member of NAIFA         
  2. Have earned an NAIFA designation     
  3. Attended the Instructors Conference and completed the First Year program
    1. Completion of the First Year program includes:
      • Attending the duration of the entire conference
      • Preparing and presenting a topic for the Education Committee to review
      • Completing any follow-up assigned by the Education Committee
    2. Follow-up may include:
      • Auditing one class with an NAIFA instructor
      • Auditing two classes with an NAIFA instructor
      • Re-taking the First Year program
To maintain your NAIFA instructor status you must:
  1. Remain an NAIFA member in good standing
  2. Attend the Instructor Conference at least once every three years
  3. Remain a licensed active appraiser in good standing in at least one state, or a licensed inactive appraiser less than three years
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in classroom delivery with PowerPoint or similar video graphic methods.  Any exceptions must be approved by the Education Committee.
