Prior to teaching a class for the NAIFA, you must:
- Be a member of NAIFA
- Have earned an NAIFA designation
- Attended the Instructors Conference and completed the First Year program
- Completion of the First Year program includes:
- Attending the duration of the entire conference
- Preparing and presenting a topic for the Education Committee to review
- Completing any follow-up assigned by the Education Committee
- Follow-up may include:
- Auditing one class with an NAIFA instructor
- Auditing two classes with an NAIFA instructor
- Re-taking the First Year program
To maintain your NAIFA instructor status you must:
- Remain an NAIFA member in good standing
- Attend the Instructor Conference at least once every two years (starting with Instructor Conference 2006)
- Remain a licensed active appraiser in good standing in at least one state, or a licensed inactive appraiser less than three years
- Demonstrate proficiency in classroom delivery with PowerPoint or similar video graphic methods. Any exceptions must be approved by the Education Committee.
