Complaint Against a Member
Any complaint by any member or the general public shall be in writing and shall outline in detail the nature of the complaint, including documentation and exhibits, if any. Said complaint shall be sent to the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, 401 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. Upon receipt the National Office shall forward the complaint to the Chairperson of the National Professional Standards Committee, who shall review said complaint for probable cause. If the Professional Standards Committee finds no probable cause, the complaint subject to review by the Board, shall be dismissed. If the Committee finds probable cause, the complaint shall be marked with a case number, and the Chairperson shall advise the affected member as to the nature of the complaint, and request the Chapter President or the appointed Chapter Professional Standards Committee to conduct an investigation and/or hearing prior to preparing a Chapter Summary Report complete with all pertinent facts including any relevant testimony or documentation such as the detailed written response of the affected member and final recommendations to the National Professional Standards Committee to the case and matter. The National Professional Standards Committee shall review the case and matter in accordance with Article 7, Subsection 7.4, the established procedures for Managing Ethics and Grievance Complaints Against Members, and report recommendations to the Board as to how the case and matter shall be handled. |
